Though this wood is very difficult to work, it is meticulously carved and etched to reveal incredible detail. It is then sanded and polished to bring out the rich, dark grain and unique personality of the wood. The end result is an amazingly smooth hard finish remarkably achieved with no lacquer or varnish. Due to its extreme density, it is resistant to water, scratches and stains. And it's very easy to clean with a damp cloth. Occasional treatment with paste shoe polish and light buffing will give this art piece a rich shine and bring out the intricate detail of the wood.
